While implementing a small example of a search engine for my trainees using the ZEND framework, I often stumbled into links from this page: MarkMail
The tool aggregates and orders mail archives. As their development blog reports,
Google is now embracing them for viewing and searching Google Code project list archives.
That might be the reason why they have been so high in the Google Search results lately. So lets keep an eye on them.

After reading “The Googly Story” by David. A Vise and Mark Malseed I decided to read some other articles mentioned in the book. I thought maybe some others would also like to do so and save a bit on finding them. Therefore I gathered them and listed them in the order mentioned in the book.

As a follow up to my first post on GMailnow my description of how to import your Mozilla Thunderbird address book (your contacts) into your GMail account.
Its not that much of a big deal but I want to give you some hints on how to do it.
Just export your Thunderbird contacts to a csv file. If you don’t know how to do this, just read How to Export Contacts from the Mozilla Thunderbird or Netscape Address Book.
Edit this file and remove all colums except the ones holding Name,E-Mail and Notes.

In the cause of looking for a new eMail provider I am currently testing Google Mail. GMail and googlemail are just synonyms for this service, so don’t get confused. To get a better testing experience I am trying to import some old emails to my google mail account and although I found some tips on the net, I could figure it out yet.
I have some problems with the smtp server that should forward my old e-mails to my gmail account. If you have any suggestions on this issue, please leave …
