I realized that the sound a dogs does is interpreted differently in different cultures. This also manifests in the words that are attributived to the sound in different languages.
Here are some examples I figured out so far:
German: wau wau
English: woof-woof
Bulgarian: bau bau
Russian: bau bau
Czech: haf haf
Korean: mong mong
I am interested in getting to know some others.
So please comment if you know any others.
